Tara Viscose Kalamkari Print Saree Ivory
Description
Quiet Buti Saree. Scattered floral buti body with Kalamkari narrative border. Deep teal pallu.
Single dark charcoal flower buti motifs sit evenly spaced across a warm ivory base, each one identical in size and placement, giving the body a composed, measured quality. The spacing between each buti is generous enough that the ivory ground remains the dominant presence. The eye moves across the surface at a steady rhythm without being pulled in any direction.
The border changes the register entirely. A continuous Kalamkari narrative runs along the full length, human figures, musicians, dancers and decorative elements drawn in the characteristic dense fine line work of the tradition, in charcoal on the same ivory ground. The border illustration sits below the body buti without competing, a different story running alongside a quieter one.
The deep teal pallu is plain woven with a natural slub texture and gold zari accent, broad and undecorated. It closes the saree with a colour that makes the ivory body appear warmer and the charcoal print appear deeper by contrast. The fringe hem at the pallu edge is a natural finish of the weave.
Viscose drapes softly and falls in clean folds, keeping the spaced buti body looking as considered in wear as it does on the hanger. Kalamkari is a hand-drawn and block-printed textile art from Andhra Pradesh where artists use natural dyes and fine pen work to build narrative compositions of figures, mythology and nature across fabric.
