Diamond Grid Saree. All-over geometric Bandhni pattern on soft Chanderi. Gold zari border.
White resist dots build large diamond grid formations across a deep magenta base, each diamond filled with a different Bandhni motif, circular medallions, four-petal flowers, cross formations and radial patterns, so that the grid reads as a single connected surface from a distance and reveals individual compositions on closer inspection. The pattern covers the body completely, edge to edge, without a plain section anywhere.
The pallu shifts from the geometric grid into a freer Bandhni composition, larger motifs with more space between them, the same white dot vocabulary used with less density to let the magenta ground breathe through. The transition from tight body pattern to open pallu gives the drape a natural visual rhythm.
A gold zari border runs the full length, fine and precise, the only element in the saree that is not made of dots. It defines the edge without competing with the surface.
Viscose Chanderi stays airy and slightly crisp through the day, holding pleats at the waist while the pallu falls freely from the shoulder. The fabric weight is right for this density of print, structured enough to carry the pattern flat, soft enough to move. Bandhni is a tie-resist dyeing tradition from Gujarat and Rajasthan where thousands of individual fabric points are knotted by hand before dyeing, each releasing as a white dot when untied.
